KANNAWIDAN: The Ylocos Festival

Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture that are to be preserved for the next generations because it is observed that many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano culture are not familiar to the younger generations already. Children of today are paying more attention to the modern and novelty dances they seen on the television than the traditional ones. There is also a need to evaluate the different products of the different municipalities and the agricultural products and livestock of the farmers and fisher folks. Because of this, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur conceived a festival that will highlight these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. They call it the KANNAWIDAN Ylocos Festival, it is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was separated on February 3, 1818.
The celebration was opened by a celebrated mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral followed by a procession of the patron saints of the 40 parishes and images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary around the province’s capital city. This shows the deep rooted religiosity of the Ilocanos. Rev. Fr. Roque Reyes who officiate the mass articulated in his homily that this festivity is the time to thank the Almighty not only for the abundance He showered for the province but also the rich heritage of the place including the strong ties among the Ilocano families.

My Dream, My Future

It's not bad to dream high.
Everyone of us has a dream.  It can be a dream to become rich or etc.
Our dreams can be our inspirations.  I have many dreams in my life, but all I want is just to finish my studies, to become successful, and to have a good life.  I will study hard and try my best to fulfill my dreams.

Being An ICT Student

It is very important to learn and have knowledge about computers.
Information and Communication Technology or ICT is one of our subject in the Fourth Year.  But not all the Fourth Year Students have this subject.
I am lucky that I am one of the students of ICT, because this is very important to us.  We can apply this in many things.  I have learned a lot of things on ICT and I will apply this on my studies.

NEW YEAR, NEW ME!

Many things had come to our lives.  There are many blessings that we have received, many friends we have encountered, and many things had happened to us.
And now, another year has already started.  New Year, New Me.  In this year, I want to be better and to be happy always.  I want to improve myself, my attitudes, and the whole ME.  I'll try to change all the bad attitudes and all the bad things on me.  I'll try my best to be a nice daughter.  I plan this year that I'll be more responsible in all things, especially in my studies and in doing things in our house.  I wish that I'll be receiving more blessings and gain more friends in this year.

REFLECTION

Reflecting ourselves on what we have done.
Flashback....think of this.  Do you easily learned a lesson without discussing it?  I guess no, but the only way to easily learned it is to review in your own and study.  I don't really understand some of our lessons but thanks yo my friends because they are helping to easily understand it.  It was very hard to study or discuss it in our own, because we always need a teacher to discuss it.
I will always study and review my lessons with my friends so that I will know better from it.  I expect that teachers will know what to do.

"Keeping In Mind Our Mother Tongue"

Mothers are very important to us.  They have an important role in our lives.  They are the one who care us since we were young, and even when we were in their womb.  They teach us good things.  So, we should not forget all the good things and all the good manners that they are teaching and sharing to us.  Instead, we value them.  We should always keep it in our mind.  Because, as the saying goes this way, "Mothers knows best."  We should follow what they want us to do, to be, if it is for our good or betterment.
